Andrew Skehan became Chief Operating Officer at Popeyes® Louisiana Kitchen in August 2011. Mr. Skehan has more than 20 years of extensive experience in international strategy, operations, development and marketing.
Prior to joining Popeyes, Mr. Skehan served as the Chief Operating Officer of Wendy’s/Arby’s International from 2009 to 2011 where he was responsible for strategy formulation, brand expansion and ongoing performance in markets outside of North America. Before joining Wendy’s/Arby’s International, Mr. Skehan served for 19 years in leadership positions with Churchill Downs Incorporated; Nabisco®, Incorporated; and PepsiCo Restaurants International.
As the Chief Operating Officer of Churchill Downs Incorporated, Mr. Skehan led the acquisition and subsequent integration of the celebrated Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans and oversaw the historic renovation and enlargement of Churchill’s flagship Churchill Downs Racetrack. As Churchill’s Chief Marketing Officer, he directed the dramatic expansion of their digital capabilities while leading both the Churchill and Kentucky Derby Brands to unprecedented global growth.
Mr. Skehan managed Nabisco’s Europe, the Middle East and African marketing and business development efforts from Barcelona and led a Prague-based Pepsi joint venture responsible for introducing KFC to Central Europe. Prior to his foodservice industry experience, Mr. Skehan served as an officer in the United States Navy.
Mr. Skehan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island.
